One Wish

If I ever found a genie and it gave me a wish, I would wish to not be a procrastinator anymore. I have SO MANY things I need to finish and release. I'm not even kidding. I have a re-write of My Sister's Keeper (Was going to scrap it, but there's something about it, maybe the fact that it was my first real novel I started working on... I don't want to give up on it just yet.), Ice, Mortality, Living Will, editing on Chastity's new piece (Unlikely Couple), editing on the Retail Hell Underground-esque piece Destruction Productions has picked up, not to mention Mommy Tales, Nikki's Choice, and Diary of a Teen Vampire.

So I've come up with a plan. I've moved out to the desk in the living room, and I will work for at least 1/2 hour at a time, and I will stay up until about 5:30 AM every day until I've gotten all caught up on this stuff.
In the meantime, please be on the lookout for promo pieces I'll be doing on my youtube channel, AuthorEWestlund. There will be one up for Fatima soon, as well as Nikki's Choice, one for the Sketchbooks series, one for Teen Vampire, and a few for Chastity's first two submissions.

Love my blog? Now you can subscribe to it and have each and every entry sent straight to your kindle! I'm pretty sure it's only 99 cents/month in the kindle store with the first 14 days free.

Destruction Productions

Chastity, Jane, and I have come to an executive decision regarding the future of Destruction Productions. We will not accept new writers until June of 2013. In the meantime, we will be pushing up all publishing "dates" and deadlines to four per month. Most will be shorter than five 8.5/11 pages, but some, like "A Sultry Mermaid" and "Fairy Marriage" by Chastity and "Laced" by Jane Quill will be approximately 20,000 words or more. We will also release the Cigarette Papers Volume 1 paperback, which will be a collection of short stories from all Destruction Productions writers, including Delia, who is on creative hiatus until July.

MY releases will still come out as usual. I will no longer be telling about release dates, but rather I will just blog, facebook, tweet, and forum-post it up when I notice things are for sale.

Shout Out to anyone else who just killed a character they hadn't been intending upon killing!

Actually, three. But I digress.
This blog is just to outline a few things going on and a few things I plan on, based on my current emotions.
My mother has been diagnosed with cancer. My grandfather died in September. Life's kinda taking a depressing turn, but I have to press through if I ever hope to succeed as a writer. I've been kind of blocked lately, so I dropped out of NaNoWriMo, and am just kind of doing word sprints and seeing where an idea takes me.

I plan to publish something before the end of November, and something on Christmas Day. There will also be a big big big Destruction Productions release giveaway from December 25th to January 10th, details to come for that very soon.

Please, please please go enter my giveaway (a couple posts back). There will be bigger and better giveaways in the coming months, and I will try to do one every 2-3 weeks, so TELL YOUR FRIENDS. ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS. AND YOUR ENEMIES. Someone will win something!

My life, right now

Hey there, blogoverse. Blogosphere? People of the Internet, uh, hello, is this thing on?
It must be, because I'm doing a post about me (with some mild book-related stuff toward the end).
Today I got a phone call from my best friend, Crysten, saying that she was in town (which is rare because she lives all the way down in Iowa, approximately 10 hours away). She came and we hung out and caught up a bit in the parking lot of my apartment building, and I got to meet her son for the first time, and he's about to turn two. I was so glad to see them, to hug them-
But the hole that it has left in me is killing me now. Her leaving again, with her kid (the last time I had seen her she was only starting to be pregnant (I mean she was like maybe three months), and now her kid's about to turn two, and I don't know when I'll see them again. I want desperately to get in the car and drive down to Iowa and hide in her closet.
I have separation anxiety I think. Every time I've ever had to let go of someone, even for them to just go home from a sleepover at my house or vice versa, I get depressed, I get anxious, and I get bored. It feels as though I'll never be happy again, never complete, never myself. It passes pretty quickly, usually, with the exception of a few people: Crysten, my ex-boyfriend Jon, my ex-roommates in Cali JJ and Jax. The pain from the latter three just finally eased enough for me to breathe again within the last year.
I'm trying to occupy my mind so I don't dwell too much on the fact that my best friend since 1st Grade lives too far away for me to visit, so I've done some work (in my head) on Paper Lanterns (October 14th, 2011) and Sucker (June 2012). I've decided more about MY version of vampires, and that will be revealed slowly as I build to the releases of my vampire-based novels Sucker and Elizabeth Hayes.

I leave you with a request: Search Destruction Productions on Smashwords and check out my work and the work of a few other lovely ladies.
Search Destruction Productions on Facebook and "like" my publisher page.
