THE BUMP!

Well unless you've been skipping blog posts at random, you've probably seen me talking about "The Bump," which is a short story that starts on my cousin Jessie's blog, and continues with part two on my own blog. So far, that's all she wrote, so to speak. She being me, of course. But that's the farthest I've come with it... There may be a part 3 to just tie off the loose ends, but it won't be for a while. I've got other projects that I need to work on, projects that have the potential to pay and not just be a fun blog idea.
I ordered a bunch of iPad styluses last night (a bunch because I can forsee about thirty of the damn things getting lost right away) so I can draw the illustrations for "Mommy Tales: Maryam and Isa."
Paper Lanterns SHOULD be available in paperback soon... Assuming I can finish formatting it.
I called my Gramma today because she had called and left me a message... First thing she said was that she couldn't wait for the second book to be available, she was so engrossed in Paper Dolls that she read the whole thing in one day! Which isn't saying much for most people, because it's about 60 pages of rather large print, but my Gramma is a relatively slow reader and generally only reads a couple hours out of the day. But she was so engrossed that she took it to bed with her and finished reading it instead of watching tv like she normally does! I don't think I've ever been so proud of myself! I wrote something that people apparently like, though most people would never know it, what with the lack of reviews and whatnot.
Anyway, that's all I really wanted to say for now. Ta!

I Proudly Present: Fatima Sarraf and "Bump" announcement

I have decided on something, and therefore am proud to announce a series of books I will be releasing in the near future under a pseudonym.  Mommy Tales by Fatima Sarraf. So far, I have planned 5 picture books and a couple of young reader chapter books. They will all be about Muslim values and the stories of the Prophets.
Fatima Sarraf. Some of you might recognize that as the name of the main character in "Fatima." Well, irrelevant to the Cedarcrest Chronicles is what the girls (and boys) grow up to do. That's not interesting for young adults. But after graduating with honors at Cedarcrest, Fatima Sarraf goes on to get a teaching degree and a master's in Islamic studies, marries a Shayk (Sheik? Sp?), and has three children: Adam, Maryam, and Ibrahim. Her children are full of questions. Mommy Tales is full of answers. (Note, official title of the series may change, nothing is publishable yet.)

The Bump. That elusive part two. When will I post it? Why do I suck so much?

TONIGHT.

Goals For The New Year and "Bump" News

First off I want to sincerely apologize to all of Jessie's blog followers (I'm a Wife and Mama Now?) for the delay in posting part two of "The Bump." I finished it last night, and then my laptop decided to be an epic failure  and shut off before I could save, so now I have to go through and re-re-edit/rewrite. It will be up before the end of the first week of January, however, and you can hold me to that.

And now for my goals for the new year. Some are "personal" and some are "business."

1.  Lose 100 pounds.

2. Quit at BP.

3. Sell 500,000 copies of my books (ebook and paperback).

4. Get two new computers (both laptops, one mac, one windows)

5. Donate $5,000 to charity.

6. Get at least one copy of one of my books into the local library system.

7. Do two book signings.

8. Publish 10 books and short stories.

9. Hold four giveaways.

10. Buy all new bedroom furniture since mine is all ruined from water leaks.

PSA: If you're looking for a new apartment, stay the crap away from Georgetown On The River in Fridley, MN. They never actually fix problems, they never answer when you call, but they always know when rent is due. They suck. Do not rent from them.

Little Too Much Partying...

Yeah, sorry about that, I meant to post the conclusion to "The Bump" yesterday, but I ended up partying a bit too hard, and I never finished the ending of it, so it will be up within the next 48 hours.  Sorry!
